Sudan: The UN Security Council calls for the protection of civilians amid the escalation of attacks on El -Fasher

In a statement issued on Friday evening, the members of the Council strongly condemned the continuous and intense attacks on the capital of North Darfur in recent days by the Rapid Support Forces and reports of an attack on the Saudi Teaching Hospital in the city – which killed more than 70 patients and their relatives and wounded dozens. They renewed their demand for the Rapid Support Forces to stop their siege for Al -Faisal, according to Mystery 2736And they called for immediately stopping the fighting and calming the situation in the city and around it.
The Council called on the parties to the conflict to ensure the protection of civilians and the civil infrastructure, in accordance with international humanitarian law and the human rights law, as necessary. They expressed their deep concern about the status of civilians in Al -Fasher and the Zamzam camp for the displaced displaced “Those who have been displaced several times and are already facing a humanitarian crisis.”
The members of the Council called on the parties to the conflict to seek an immediate endowment of hostilities and to find a sustainable solution to the conflict through the dialogue, and they reminded them and the member states of the need to comply with the measures of the arms embargo stipulated in Resolution 1556 And repeated in Resolution 2750.
