Sudan: The UN Security Council calls for the protection of civilians amid the escalation of attacks on El -Fasher

In a statement issued on Friday evening, the members of the Council strongly condemned the continuous and intense attacks on the capital of North Darfur in recent days by the Rapid Support Forces and reports of an attack on the Saudi Teaching Hospital in the city – which killed more than 70 patients and their relatives and wounded dozens. The Council called on the parties to the conflict to ensure the protection of civilians and the civil infrastructure, in accordance with international humanitarian law and the human rights law, as necessary.
