Razan Al Mubarak chairs the 112nd meeting of the Nature Preservation Council in Guatemala

Abu Dhabi, February 3 / WAM / His Excellency Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of the International Federation for the Preservation of Nature, raised the twelfth meeting of the Federation Council in Antigua – Guatemala.
The meeting was represented by a separate moment for the union, as the delegates evaluated the achievements that were made in 2024 and drawn the ways of the road for the year 2025 and the following.
Discussions on the strategic vision of the International Federation for the Conservation of Nature, which extends for twenty years and will be officially voted in the World Nature Conference 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
The strategy document titled “The Union for Nature is about 2045” reviewed the long -term goals of the federation, as well as a financial strategy to ensure the implementation of its priorities.
This vision has already undergone a strict review through online consultations and regional forums to preserve the nature held last year.
“The strategy represents a prominent step in the march of the International Federation for the Preservation of Nature, and I am keen to accomplish this twenty -year strategy and its completion as planned,” said His Excellency Razan Al -Mubarak.
She added that the global interest in nature acquires an unprecedented momentum due to its vital importance in preserving the health of the planet and facing the challenges of climate change. The strategy is based on the valuable inputs presented by our members, as their dedication and experience had an effective role in its formation and through our joint efforts we affirm our collective commitment to ensure the continuation of the International Federation to preserve Nature is at the forefront of environmental efforts and continues to achieve a concrete impact at the global level.
The delegates also studied the draft of the International Federation for Conservation of Nature for the period 2026-2029, which is scheduled to be approved by the Council in May 2025.
The council is working to complete the preparations for the World Conference for the Preservation of Nature in Abu Dhabi, as this important event that will be held every four years will be gathered more than 15,000 participants, including activists in the field of nature preservation, government officials, indigenous peoples, academics and representatives of the private sector.
His Excellency Razan Al Mubarak and members of the International Federation for Conservation of Nature visited the National Congress of the Republic of Guatemala in Guatemala.
During the visit, the country’s environmental legislative agenda was presented and ended with the legislators ’vote on the establishment of a marine protected area that extends 7,000 hectares with the aim of preserving the most diverse coral reefs in Guatemala, and her happiness also delivered a speech on this occasion.
The delegation of the International Federation for the Preservation of Nature in the National Palace in Guatemala also hosted a ceremony hosted by the President of Guatemala Bernardo Arvalo and the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Patricia Orlantis.
The meeting witnessed the presentation of the strategic environmental plan, Guatemala, as well as discussing the project portfolio that will be implemented in cooperation with the International Federation for Nature Conservation during the next five years.
In honor of His Excellency Razan Al -Mubarak and in appreciation of her entrepreneurial efforts in the field of nature protection, the city’s mayor Ricardo Kenions presided over a special ceremony during which the Antigua City Medal presented her happiness.
