UNRWA: The residents of Jenin camp endured the impossible, and the simplest elements of life no longer exist

Roland Frederick, director of UNRWA in the West Bank, said in a statement that in recent months, Jenin camp has turned into a “ghost city”, where the operations carried out by the Israeli and Palestinian security forces have led to the forced displacement of thousands of the camp residents, and many of them will not have now A place you return to, adding that “The simplest elements of life no longer exist”.

He stated that on the day he was supposed to represent the beginning of the new semester of thousands of children, 13 schools in the northern West Bank are still closed, and that UNRWA was unable to provide its services inside the Jenin camp for months.

Frederick warned that “The horrific scenes today in the West Bank are undermining the fragile ceasefire that was reached in Gaza, which threatens a new escalation.”.

He pointed out that UNRWA has not received any prior warning about the explosions, as it is no longer permitted to communicate between employees and Israeli authorities, which endangered the lives of civilians.
