" Sharjah Heritage Institute" The Cairo Book Fair is discussed in the future of cultural heritage in light of contemporary transformations

Sharjah, on February 6/ WAM/ The Sharjah Institute of Heritage organized during its participation in the Cairo International Book Fair 2025, which concluded yesterday a cultural session entitled “The Future of Cultural Heritage in a Changing era” in the belief of the importance of protecting cultural heritage and setting it for future generations and in awareness of the challenges imposed by the digital age.

The session witnessed the participation of Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, President of the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Library of Alexandria, Dr. Ahmed Bahi El -Din Al -Assassi, President of the Egyptian Society for Popular Decree and Dr. Samar Saeed, Dean of the Higher Institute of Arts in Egypt.

Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim said that the protection of cultural heritage in Arab societies has become an urgent responsibility that requires the solidarity of efforts and the promotion of awareness of the importance of civilized heritage, noting that the modern civilization despite its positive developments, but it cast a shadow over the Arab personality and its authentic traditions, which calls for working on strategies that preserve the cultural identity It restores her heritage practices in contemporary contexts.

He added that the cultural institutions with their pivotal role in preserving heritage today are required not only to protect this heritage from extinction but also by creating innovative mechanisms that ensure its continuity in the collective memory of future generations, stressing the need to integrate modern technologies and digital media in promoting heritage and making it a living and interacting with developments The era, as traditional solutions are no longer sufficient to face the accelerating challenges facing cultural heritage in light of globalization and technological openness.

Dr. Ahmed Bahi El -Din Al -Asasi reviewed the challenges facing cultural heritage in light of digital transformations, pointing to the danger of distortion and distortion that may be attached to the heritage content due to its lack of documentation scientifically and demanded the necessity of setting mechanisms that protect the cultural heritage from the ill -considered exploitation.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed dealt with strategies for preserving Arab heritage in light of the accelerated variables, stressing the importance of documenting heritage with accurate scientific methods and benefiting from modern digital technologies to transfer cultural heritage to future generations in an interactive way that keeps pace with the times.

While Dr. Samar Saeed stressed the importance of benefiting from the modern media and social media platforms in spreading heritage culture with the involvement of digital influencers in the definition campaigns of popular heritage in a way that contributes to attracting new generations towards caring for and preserving heritage.
