She added that the forum focuses this year on activating the role of cities in achieving a balance between economic development and environmental sustainability, by strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, and the employment of technology and artificial intelligence in developing more efficient and humanitarian urban environments, noting that the forum sessions will address a number of basic axes The most prominent of which is the strategic use of technology and artificial intelligence in building cities centered around man, innovative financing mechanisms to support sustainable urban development projects, balanced urban planning to ensure cities integration with the natural environment, and achieving the concept of “balance between man and nature”.

She pointed out that the forum constitutes an important preparatory stage for the summit of Asia and the Pacific Cities, which is scheduled to be held in Expo Dubai during the month of October, and the most prominent leaders, officials and international experts gather to discuss the future of urban planning.

Abdel Hamid revealed that tomorrow, the official platform of the forum will be launched, which includes the main axes, in addition to information about tickets and participation mechanisms, whether as speakers or attendance.

For his part, Dr. Anas Al -Mughairi, Director General of the Arab Cities Development Institute, thanked the city of Expo Dubai, for organizing the “Future of Cities” forum that embodies cooperation between experts and non -profit and international organizations in addition to cities and practitioners in the field of city development.

He added that the forum aims to exchange ideas and opinions on the development of cities, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities available to achieve a better future and explain that there are many challenges facing Arab cities today, such as internal migration, the ability of cities to adapt to economic and social changes, and to confront climate change, Sustainability issues.

Eng. Ahmed Al -Khatib, CEO of Real Estate Development and Delivery in the city of Expo Dubai, stressed the importance of sustainability as a basic standard in building projects in the city, noting that sustainability is no longer an option but rather a necessity in all aspects of life.

Al -Khatib said that the city of Expo Dubai is designed to be an integrated city that combines work, entertainment and housing, taking into account the highest standards of sustainability.

In turn, Habiba Al -Marashi, founder and CEO of the Emirates Environment Group for Environment, stressed the importance of the sustainable transformation of cities by integrating nature with urban development.

Al -Marashi said that this transformation represents a vital challenge that requires cooperation between the various parties concerned, including the private sector, government institutions, and civil society, in order to achieve the sustainable development goals.
