"Climate change and the environment" and"FAO" They divorce the evaluation of the food control system in the Emirates

Dubai, February 7 / WAM / The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO”, launched “the evaluation of the food control system in the UAE”, marking the start of a comprehensive evaluation process for the national food control system.

This came during a founding and training workshop in which more than 50 representatives of the competent authorities participated at the state level.

The workshop, which lasted 5 days and concluded its work today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai, gathered senior officials and technicians from the federal and government agencies in the country, and included training sessions presented by FAO experts, which dealt with the use of the “Food Control Systems Assessment tool” developed by the FAO and the World Health Organization, which is Globally recognized tool to evaluate about 160 standards that include food safety policies, legislative frameworks, monitoring and inspection systems, risk management, and the possibility and tracking of food products.

This evaluation also aims to ensure the compatibility and alignment of the national food control system with international standards, in order to enhance food safety measures and the ability of the state to compete in the global trade markets.
