The completion of 500 electrical charging stations at the end of 2025

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Eng. Sherif Al -Alami, confirmed that the ministry aims to install more than 500 charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of 2025, as part of efforts to support the transformation into clean means of transportation and reduce carbon emissions.
He said, on the sidelines of the preliminary day of the World Government Summit, that the ministry, through its possession of 50% of the Emirates Charming Plants Company, during the year 2024, it installed more than 100 electric charger in various regions of the country, and works to expand the network rapidly to meet the increasing demand for Electric compounds.
He pointed out that these initiatives come within an integral approach in cooperation with the private sector and local authorities to ensure the provision of advanced infrastructure that enhances the spread of electric vehicles, in line with the goals of national sustainability.
He stressed that the Ministry continues to implement its ambitious strategies according to the energy strategy 2050, as it seeks to raise the capacity of renewable energy in the country to more than 14 gigawatts by 2030, as part of its commitment to developing the clean energy system.
He explained that the Ministry is working in continuous coordination with the relevant authorities to find innovative solutions to various challenges, including traffic congestion, within a comprehensive vision aimed at enhancing sustainability in the transport and infrastructure sector.
