Saqr Ghobash is discussing strengthening parliamentary cooperation with Paraguay Speaker

Dubai, February 12 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council, met His Excellency Raul Latory Martinez, Speaker of the Parliament in the Republic of Paraguay, on the sidelines of the World Summit of Governments currently held in Dubai.

During the meeting, the importance of activating joint cooperation at the level of parliamentary work between the UAE and Barghaway, coordination in international forums and forums, especially the International Parliamentary Union, and the role of parliamentarians in supporting governments and enhancing cooperation in the field of future foresight and supporting the directions of the two countries of the two countries in all fields.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Tariq Hamid Al -Tayer, First Deputy Chairman of the Council and Chairman of the Friendship Committee group with the parliaments of Latin American countries, Maryam Majid bin Thania, Second Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Adnan Hamad, Dr. Mozah Al -Shehhi, and his safe Ali Al -Aidi, members of the Federal National Council, and happiness Afra Al -Basti, Assistant Secretary -General for Parliamentary Communication.

His Excellency Saqr Ghobash stressed the importance of the role of parliaments in keeping pace with the directions of governments and the aspirations of peoples and achieving the vision of leadership in adopting the approach to communication and partnership, to develop various aspects of cooperation and exchange experiences in a way that embodies the existing relations between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash welcomed His Excellency Raul Latory Martinez and his accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of friendship relations with the Paraguay, which is based on strengthening the foundations of understanding and joint cooperation at the economic and political levels, and through mutual visits between the two sides.

His Excellency pointed out the importance of developing parliamentary relations between the two councils, given that parliamentary relations represent a great motivation for the growth and development of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.

His Excellency said that the convening of the World Government Summit this year under the slogan “foresight of the future governments”, in the presence of the leaders of thought, international experts and decision makers from all over the world, stresses the importance of strengthening international cooperation and finding effective solutions to the most important current and future global challenges.

His Excellency appreciated the visit and participation of the Speaker of the Parliament in the Republic of Paraguay at the summit, which is now a platform to redefine the role of governments in light of the major global transformations.

He stressed that the summit is not a dialogue from the world as it is now, but rather from the world as it should be because it is an area in which governments intersect with future thought, the economy with the requirements of sustainability, and modern technology with human values, and that it moves to the model of dealing with each variable as an opportunity. Its formation and guidance, noting that dialogue between countries and the promotion of cooperation in many fields, especially technology, development, and sustainable energy, is an imperative in drawing features of a more prosperous future for all our people.

For his part, His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Republic of Paraguay stressed the power of existing cooperation relations between the two countries, noting the importance of activating and developing parliamentary relations in order to achieve the common interests of both sides, and praised the role of Emirati parliamentary diplomacy, their efforts and participation at the level of international parliaments.

He expressed his aspiration to push parliamentary cooperation to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, especially since Paraguay considers the Emirates the gateway to trade in the Middle East.
