Montenegro Prime Minister: They are keen to enhance relations with the Emirates and support investments
Dubai, February 12 / WAM / His Excellency Milojco Spacco, Prime Minister of Montenegro, stressed that his country focuses heavily on enhancing economic growth and seizing the available investment opportunities, stressing the importance of consolidating diplomatic relations with allies and historical partners, led by the UAE, which is brought together by Montenegro with close relations. His Excellency said, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the relations between the two countries recently witnessed a remarkable development, stressing the Montenegro government’s keenness to strengthen these relations and raise them to higher levels.
He explained that his country has achieved remarkable economic growth over the past five years, as GDP doubled one of the highest growth rates in Europe and perhaps more broadly, indicating that his country is currently witnessing a huge investment stage in the infrastructure that extends for the seven to the next eight years.
He added that the development plans include building about 490 km of highways, restructuring of two main international airports, in addition to updating one of the major ports, rehabilitating and developing the rail network in addition to other projects.
He stressed that these projects come within the framework of the government’s vision to enhance internal linking and facilitate movement between cities, in addition to supporting the tourism sector and attracting investments.
His Excellency stressed that his government is working to enhance security and stability in the country, pointing out that the capabilities of the various security services are currently enhancing to ensure the feeling of citizens, visitors and investors with safety and reassurance.
He said, “We are among the countries of the Balkans that have positive relations with all neighboring countries, and maintain strong relations with Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia, Hungary, and other countries, which gives Montenegro a strategic location Unique. ”
Regarding their economic relations with the UAE, His Excellency explained that his government seeks to enhance trade cooperation and investments with Emirati companies, noting that the government now focuses heavily on the economy and investment.
“Last year, we have witnessed a strong desire to enhance relations with the Emirates, and we look forward to ensuring to protect all Emirati commercial and investment interests in Montenegro, in addition to working to expand the scope of future partnership,” said His Excellency.
Prime Minister Montenegro expressed his admiration for the global government summit, describing it as a “unique platform worldwide”, where representatives of governments, companies and NGOs gathered to exchange visions and experiences on urgent global issues.
He added that during this summit, I was able to learn a lot and benefit from the ideas presented, and this event represents a great opportunity to acquire knowledge, build new partnerships, and send positive messages to the world.
His Excellency concluded his speech by emphasizing that Montenegro has strongly returned to the economic scene, and said, “The economy of Montenegro is one of the fastest growing economies in the region and is ready to partner with the world.”
