Abu Dhabi, February 13 / WAM / The Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi issued a decision that allows the registered economic facilities in the other Emirates or the free zones of any of them, the opening of branches in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in accordance with the approved regulations and regulations, while exempting them from the requirement to provide the headquarters for a year from the date of issuance License according to the facility’s request.
The decision comes within the continuous efforts to provide an appropriate environment for investment, by facilitating the practice of business, which reflects the commitment of Abu Dhabi to consolidate the emirate’s position as a vital center for business and investments.
The decision stipulated the exemption of 1,200 economic activities from the condition of providing the company’s headquarters for a year from the date of the issuance of the license, and this applies to a list that includes various activities in many areas and sectors.
The decision contributes to supporting investors and entrepreneurs by facilitating the procedures for establishing and practicing business, in order to enhance growth and expansion opportunities for licensed companies in the other Emirates, and enable them to benefit from the wide and promising opportunities provided by the growing economy of Abu Dhabi.
The decision supports economic diversification efforts in Abu Dhabi by facilitating the expansion of companies throughout the country, ensuring that they reach the integrated business system in Abu Dhabi, and enhance the growth of non -oil sectors that have achieved growth of 59% during the past ten years, and 6.6% during the third quarter of the year 2024, to raise its contribution to GDP to 54%.

He said that during the last period, the activities available within the license of the Abu Dhabi merchant were increased to 1,200 activities and licenses of free professions to 100 activities in order to meet the requirements of entrepreneurs in investors in various sectors, and to facilitate the start and practice of business that promotes the vitality of commercial movement, and supports economic diversification efforts and providing jobs. .
The owners of licensed establishments in the other Emirates can apply for a new branch license in Abu Dhabi through the unified government services platform “Dum”, by submitting the required application and documents, obtaining the necessary approvals, and when receiving a notice of acceptance, the prescribed fees can be paid and the economic license of the new branch can be delivered .
