Russia reveals its position on the European summit on Ukraine

Russia welcomed the emergency European summit on the war in Ukraine, which is organized by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Monday.
The Russian news agency Interfax quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that it would be positive for European leaders’ talks to end the conflict instead of continuing it.

Russia repeatedly says the war it started almost three years ago, due to the supply of Western weapons of Ukraine.

Peskov described the issue of the deployment of possible European peacekeepers in Ukraine, which is currently being discussed in France and Britain, as “difficult” because it involves armed forces from NATO members (NATO).

“But so far, tangible discussions have not been held on this,” Peskov added.
