Israeli forces storm the Qalandia Training Center and close UNRWA schools in East Jerusalem
Philip Lazarini – on X – said that 350 students and 30 employees were present at the center and were affected by this procedure. He pointed to the launch of tear gas and sound bombs.
He stated that members of the Israeli police, accompanied by employees from the Jerusalem municipality, also went to UNRWA schools and ordered their closure.
The Commissioner -General told a relief and operation agency of Palestine refugees.UNRWAToday’s incidents affected 250 children in 3 schools belonging to East Jerusalem and more than 350 trainees at the Qalandia Training Center.
The UN official stated that this is a violation of the basic right to education as well as the privileges and forts of the United Nations. He stressed the need to ensure the right of children to reach education, and to protect and respect the United Nations facilities at all times, regardless of where they are.
