Resuming in-person education for all nurseries, kindergartens, public and private schools, starting April 20

Abu Dhabi, April 15, 2026 – The Ministry of Education announced the resumption of in-person education for all children, students, and educational and administrative staff in nurseries, kindergartens, and government and private schools, starting Monday, April 20, 2026, after completing the necessary preparation and rehabilitation plans, including building readiness, training educational and administrative staff, and updating security and safety procedures, in a way that enhances a safe and reassuring educational environment for students and their families.
The Ministry confirmed that private schools will have the flexibility to implement the rotational hybrid education system when needed, in accordance with the approved controls and the supervision of local educational authorities, taking into account the readiness of each educational institution and ensuring smooth implementation.
She added that private schools that implement the rotating hybrid education model must organize the operational distribution of staff in a way that supports the continuity of learning, without assigning a single teacher to provide in-person and distance education simultaneously, in a way that maintains the quality of education and balances the professional burdens on educational staff.
She stressed that educational institutions will remain ready to move to alternative modes of education when needed, ensuring the smooth and flexible continuity of the educational process.
