Dubai, February 19/ WAM/ A recent study conducted by Dubai Internet City in cooperation with the company “Oxentcher”, revealed the contribution of the city to the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Dubai at a value of 100 billion dirhams during the past 15 years, in addition to providing more than 125 thousand jobs Directly and indirectly in the technology sector.
The study showed that the Dubai Internet City, which is one of the ten business complexes of the Tecom Group, is the leading destination for the most prominent technology and artificial intelligence companies in the region, as it includes more than 4 thousand global and regional companies, including companies listed on the “Fortune 500” list, and works It has more than 31 thousand specialized employees.
Ammar Al -Malik, Executive Deputy President of the Tecom Group – Commercial Sector and Director General of Dubai Internet City, stressed that the city has played a pivotal role in supporting the digital economy in Dubai since its establishment 25 years ago, indicating that it is currently contributing 65 % of the GDP of the technology sector in The emirate, which reflects its success in attracting the most prominent international technical companies.
The owner pointed out that the study reflects the commitment of Dubai Internet to provide an ideal business environment for technology and artificial intelligence companies, in line with the Dubai Economic Agency D33, stressing the continuation of cooperation with the private and government sector to enhance innovation and sustainable growth. The study touched on the city’s role in developing talent, as it invested 1.6 billion dirhams to support professional development programs and attract competencies, and also contributed to enabling startups to obtain funds and investments worth 8 billion dirhams, where a group of “UNCRIN” companies such as “Karim” embraces Souq.com.
The study also showed that the integrated environment provided by Dubai Internet City supports innovation, as it includes 19 research and development centers belonging to major international companies, including “IBM”, “Ericsson” and “Cisco”, in addition to more than 800 events It was organized by the city since 2021 to enhance knowledge exchange and skills development.
The study indicated that the advanced infrastructure of the city made it an attractive destination for business leaders and experts from more than 150 countries, where companies operating in integrated operating services benefit, including facilities for obtaining more than 200 smart government services through the group “AXS” of the group Tecom, which enhances the ease of doing business.
