I described it as historic .. Washington praises the Security Council resolution on the Ukraine war

Dorothy Chia, the US ambassador to the United Nations, described the resolution prepared by its country on the Ukraine war and adopted by the UN Security Council with the support of Russia on Monday as a “historic agreement.”

The ambassador said: We call on all member states to join the United States in pushing a permanent peace, and we are proud that the Security Council has just done this, by adopting a historic agreement, which represents a major achievement, which is the first in 3 years when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.

American decision details

On Monday, the UN Security Council approved an American decision calling for an end to the war in Ukraine without mentioning the Russian aggression.

The result of the vote in the 15 -member council came with 10 supporters without opposition, with 5 countries abstaining from the vote.
Earlier on Monday, the United Nations General Assembly rejected the US resolution formulated by the United States, which was not approved until its amendment to confirm that the conflict was the result of a “comprehensive invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
