"Dubai Electricity" organize "Hakaton clean energy"

Dubai, February 26 / WAM / The Sustainability and Innovation Center organized the third session of the “Hakathon Clean Energy” competition, with the participation of 193 contestants from 7 countries, in the framework of the participation of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in the activities of “Emirates invent 2025”.
The competition brought together the various categories that included companies, innovators, university students, and experts in the fields of sustainable innovations from all over the world.
This course focused on innovative solutions to counter climate change, water scarcity around the world and enhance environmental sustainability.
Participating projects centered on water desalination, carbon and digitization, increased energy efficiency, lowering carbon emissions, and integrating digital technologies into sustainable systems.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said: The Sustainability and Innovation Center contributes to enhancing our efforts to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the carbon neutrality strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the production capacity of energy from clean energy sources by the year 2050, The center is a global platform that brings together innovators, investors and experts from all over the world to develop projects The programs aimed at strengthening clean energy sources and energy efficiency technologies, reducing carbon fingerprint, and seeing the latest clean and renewable energy innovations.
For his part, Engineer Walid bin Salman, Executive Vice President of the Business Development and Excellence Sector in the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, pointed out that the winners of the “Hakathon Clean Energy” competition have the opportunity to communicate with leading investors, local researchers, worlds and giants of the sector, in addition to that, displays the center The winning projects at the exhibition “Clean Energy Creators” and the series “Communication for Clean Energy”, which are organized by the center.
In the third session of the “Hackathon Clean Energy” competition, the “Hoyk Solar Energy” team from Germany won a new concentrated solar energy technology; And the “Economy Water Tremont” team from the UAE for water purification technology that combines solar energy and nanoparticles of zinc oxide saturated with metal; And the “Hydroind Energy” team from the UAE for solutions to clean electricity, energy storage and water desalination; And the “Ecobit” team from the UAE on solutions supported by the artificial intelligence of energy and water management; The “Du Jude People” platform from the Kingdom of Spain specializing in enabling individuals to turn sustainability into a tangible reality.
The first session witnessed the “Hakathon Clean Energy” competition, the participation of more than 100 from various scientific and professional backgrounds, while the second session of the “Hakathon Clean Energy” competition attracted more than 160 candidates from 25 nationalities from 20 universities around the world.
