The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed that Saudi dates are one of the pillars of food security in the Kingdom, where local production was recorded for the year 2024 AD. More than 1.9 million tons.
She pointed out that this reflects the abundance of national production, its ability to meet the local demand, and achieve a surplus of export to many countries of the region and the world.

The Ministry clarified, during the campaign “Our trip from our land”, which was launched, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH; To encourage the consumption of local food products during the holy month, the Kingdom has achieved a self -sufficiency of dates by 119%.
This enhances its position as one of the largest producing and exporting countries of this strategic product, as exports and re -export amounted to (351,000) tons, compared to imports that did not exceed (952) tons only, which reflects the quality of local dates and their ability to compete globally.

The Ministry called on all consumers to make Saudi dates their first choice during the holy month, and to take advantage of the diversity of items and the high quality that is distinguished.
This comes with the emphasis that the consumption of the local product contributes to the support of farmers and the promotion of the national economy, and is part of the culture of sustainability that the Kingdom seeks to consolidate.
