The decrease in industrial product in Korea by 2.7% in January

Seoul on March 4/ WAM/ The industrial output in the Republic of Korea decreased last January compared to the previous month due to the decline in car production, despite the growth of the chips sector, according to the data issued today by the Korean Statistics Agency.
The Korean News Agency (Yonhap) stated that the industrial output declined by 2.7% last month, in a reflection of the short gains in December, which followed three consecutive months of decline, and retail sales, which is a measure of private spending, decreased by 0.6% compared to the previous month in January.
The investment in the facilities recorded a sharp decrease during the month, as it fell by 14.2% compared to the previous month.
