Expanding the scope of the “Sharjah Health City” program to improve the quality of the life of the emirate’s inhabitants

The Executive Committee of the “Sharjah Health City” program held its first meeting of 2025 today, headed by the Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the program, Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muhairi, at the authority’s headquarters.

Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muhairi stressed that the expansion of the Sharjah program is a healthy city that comes within the framework of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, that Sharjah be a healthy emirate and improve the quality of life for the residents of the emirate, by enhancing cooperation between the relevant authorities and all sectors in a way that contributes to providing a sustainable healthy environment, according to international best practices.

During the meeting, the members reviewed the recommendations of the first training workshop that was held in cooperation with the regional office of the World Health Organization, which aimed to explain the mechanism of the program and its criteria and how to apply the expansion in the emirate in implementing health initiatives, and the participation of the Sharjah delegation in the second Kuwaiti conference of health cities during February, and to benefit from successful regional experiences to support the development of the program.

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved to ensure the continuity of work according to the approved plans of the “Sharjah Health City” scope to achieve the sustainable development goals.

The meeting also dealt with the “evidence platform” prepared in cooperation with the Department of Statistics and Community Development, which is a digital tool aimed at documenting and analyzing health data to support planning and decision -making, which enhances the efficiency of achieving standards and implementing health and community initiatives, as well as discussing developments and proposals that would achieve the desired goals of the program.
