Putin announces a three -day ceasefire in May

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, Monday, a three -day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine next month, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies in World War II.
The Kremlin said in a statement that the ceasefire would start from May 8 to the tenth of the same month. Russia has invited Ukraine to join the ceasefire.
The statement added that if any violations occur from the Ukrainian side, the Russian armed forces will respond “an appropriate and effective response.”
