16 Syrian security forces were killed in attacks by loyal gunmen

16 members of the Syrian security forces were killed Thursday in attacks by gunmen loyal to former President Bashar al -Assad in western Syria, according to a new outcome reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, against the background of tension in the area to which the ousted president belongs.

“The death toll from attacks and ambushes carried out by gunmen loyal to Assad in the town of Jableh and its countryside increased to 16 members of the Syrian security forces, in attacks that are the most violent against the new authority in Syria since Assad’s overthrow” last December.
