Dubai International records 30.48 million scheduled seats during the first quarter 2025

Dubai International Airport, during March, has registered about 5.16 million seats scheduled for international flights (10.32 million in both directions), bringing the total number of scheduled seats in Dubai International, during the first quarter of this year, to 15.24 million seats (30.48 million in both directions), and the world’s airports topped, according to the periodic report issued by the OAG International Foundation. Dubai International Airport ranked first in the world in the total index of the number of seats on “international and local flights together”, as well as the seat index for “international flights” only.

The Foundation stated in a report that “Emirates Today” received a copy of it, that Dubai International Airport retained its position as the largest axis of air transport in the world, achieving continuous growth rates during the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2024.

In turn, the American “Hartfield Atlanta” airport came in second place, recording 14.77 million seats during the first quarter of this year (29.54 million seats in both directions), in the “International and Local Flights together” index together, followed by “Tokyo Hanida International Airport” with about 13.63 million seats, then “London Heathrow” airport with about 12.4 million seats, while the “Shanghai” international airport came in fifth place About 12.2 million seats.

Dubai International Airport continued to achieve strong gains compared to its counterparts from other air transport axes, as the scheduled seat capacity on international flights at the airport exceeded the barrier of five million seats, during January and March 2025.

Dubai International, which maintains its position as the largest airport in the world, was ranked first in the world in the total index of seats on international and local flights, bypassing the American Hartfield Atlanta airport, for the first time, during the first quarter of this year.

Dubai International Airport laid a new standard in the global aviation sector after receiving 92.3 million passengers in 2024, which is the highest annual traffic movement ever in the history of the airport. This achievement exceeds the previous record of 89.1 million passengers that was achieved in 2018.

Dubai International Airport runs flights to 272 destinations in 107 countries, served by 106 international airlines.
