Some people forgot what happened to Napoleon in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today, Thursday, that Moscow should choose peace in Ukraine that guarantees Russia’s long -term security and sustainable development, stressing that some people forgot what happened to Napoleon in response to the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he described Russia as a threat to Europe, according to Reuters.

“We have to choose for ourselves the option of peace that suits us, which will guarantee peace for our country in the long run,” Putin added, to women who have lost their relatives in the war.

When the mother of one of the dead soldiers asked him whether Russia would retreat, Putin said Russia did not intend to do so.

The United States is pressing Zelinski to cooperate with President Donald Trump in his efforts to hold peace talks with Russia that invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

On Thursday, Putin added that some people forgot what happened to Napoleon, a day after French President Emmanuel Macron described Russia as a threat to Europe, and his proposal to discuss the expansion of protection provided by the French nuclear arsenal to its European partners.

Putin referred to this to the French Emperor who led the army through Russia until it reached Moscow in 1812, but then he had to withdraw desperately in the winter with heavy loss of lives.

“There are still people who want to return to the time of Napoleon, and they forget how it ended,” Putin said in television comments.
