The National Academy of Inventors in the United States of America has published a list of the 100 best universities worldwide for the year 2024 AD, where Saudi universities topped the global ranking.
Through its classification, the organization focuses on the vital role that patents play in translating university research and innovations into products that contribute to enhancing innovations in comprehensive and sustainable development, in addition to the important role that academic institutions play in the research and innovation system, and the list includes prestigious international universities and governmental and non -governmental institutions.

Saudi universities

Saudi universities recorded remarkable progress in the ranking of international universities in the number of patents in the world, as King Faisal University topped the classification list for this year with 631 patents, and advanced in the number of patents on prestigious international universities in this field.
King Faisal University is one of the universities that contribute effectively to scientific research and innovation in all fields, while King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals recorded 265 patents and ranked fifth in the world, and Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University ranked fifteenth in the world in the ranking, registered 141 inventions, and King Saud University recorded 56 patents patent occupying the sixty -fourth rank globally.

Education in the Kingdom

The Secretary -General of the University Affairs Council, Bassam Al -Bassam, stressed that Saudi universities have witnessed a major shift in recent years at all levels, especially in the fields of scientific research and innovation, and educational institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have become attractions for scientific research and innovation in multiple areas within the Kingdom’s 2030 vision that supports scientific research and innovation, in light of unlimited support from good leadership – may God protect them – and the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Education University Affairs Council.

Al -Bassam congratulated the Saudi universities that topped the list, appreciating the research movement of Saudi universities, looking forward to more achievements at the local and international levels of Saudi universities in various fields.
