A strike causes Hamburg Airport to be closed and all flights are canceled

A spokeswoman for Hamburg Airport announced today, Sunday, the cancellation of all flights to and from the airport, due to a strike on a working dispute over wages, after the German Labor Union (Verdi) presented the strike date one day without prior notice.
“The airport has been closed for this reason immediately,” the spokeswoman said, adding that among the 144 arrival flights and 139 departure flights scheduled for Sunday, only 10 flights took place early in the morning.

Night workpiece

It was originally scheduled to start the strike called by the Verdi Syndicate, during the night -work attack on Sunday evening, and that it will continue until the end of the late workpiece tomorrow, Monday.
On Monday, the Verdi Syndicate called on a strike at 13 German airport, before the next round of negotiations – with federal and regional employers – scheduled for mid -March.
On Sunday, only Hamburg Airport was affected by Hamburg Airport.
