المملكة: The Kingdom reviews its efforts to combat drugs at the international level

The Deputy Director General of Narcotics Control, Major General Hamad bin Muhammad Al -Ammari, headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the meeting of the (68) Drug Committee held at the United Nations headquarters in the Republic of Austria.
During the meeting, Major General Al -Ammari highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in combating drugs at the international level, and the role of security and supervisory authorities in addressing this scourge.

Providing treatment and rehabilitation services

He also reviewed the importance of implementing preventive and awareness programs to protect community members and provide treatment and rehabilitation services.
This is in addition to strengthening international cooperation by implementing related agreements and treaties.
Within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the “Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the land, sea and air customs outlets recorded 1343 cases of prohibitions.

Enhancing the security side

It aims to strengthen the security aspect and protect society from the prohibitions of all kinds and forms.
The seized items included 43 varieties of narcotic substances, such as: cannabis, cocaine, heroin, album, and Captagon pills and others.
This is in addition to 1014 prohibited materials, and the seized items included 1994 tobacco classes and its derivatives, as well as 36 varieties of money.
