The President of the State issued a law on the reorganization of the General Administration of Customs – Abu Dhabi

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in his capacity as ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, issued a law on reorganizing the General Administration of Customs – Abu Dhabi.
The administration, which follows the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, undertakes the tasks of proposing public policies and strategic plans related to customs affairs in the emirate, to enhance the smooth flow of trade movement, ensure compliance with customs laws, and support community protection from illegal practices.
According to this law, the General Administration of Customs – Abu Dhabi has an independent legal figure, takes over the responsibility of managing and operating customs departments in the emirate, implementing customs policy, proposing to establish or cancel the customs departments in the emirate, preventing or restricting the import of some goods, exporting them or crossing them in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The main tasks of the administration include an inspection and valuation of goods authorized goods, collection of customs duties, taxes and other fees owed to them, control of areas, free markets, customs warehouses in accordance with the applicable legislation, in addition to coordinating and organizing all procedures related to facilitating the movement of goods and logistical ring in all customs outlets and free zones in the emirate, organizing customs clearance operations Issuing the necessary permits and instructions, and monitoring the business of customs savior.
Within the framework of the efforts to combat smuggling and customs crimes, the administration, in coordination with the competent authorities, is working to investigate, control and control tariffs and customs smuggling, and take measures to prevent them, and apply the necessary legal measures to pursue violators. The administration is also working on the conciliation settlement contract, selling seized or abandoned goods, or the ownership of the administration, and the application of customs exemptions.
