"Basket" Al -Qarqawi’s nomination for the presidency of the Arab Union
Dubai, March 11 / WAM / The Board of Directors of the Emirates Basketball Federation decided to re -nominate Major General / M / Ismail Al -Qarqawi, President of the Federation, for the presidency of the Arab Basketball Federation for the new session 2024 – 2028, in appreciation of his accomplishments and continuous support for the game for more than four decades.
The decision came during a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors yesterday, which was held at Al -Ahly Youth Club headquarters in Dubai.
Mansour Al -Hashemi, Assistant Secretary -General of the Federation, explained that the decision was made unanimously by the Board of Directors due to the prominent role played by Al -Qarqawi in developing basketball sport in the Emirates and the Arab region, in addition to achieving many achievements at the Arab and continental levels.
For his part, Ismail Al -Qarqawi expressed his thanks to the Board of Directors for this confidence, stressing his intention to continue to work enthusiastically to develop the game and strengthen the Arab basketball system through joint cooperation between the Arab Federation and member federations.
The Emirates Basketball Federation is scheduled to send the nomination letter to the General Secretariat of the Arab Union, where the General Assembly of the Arab Federation will hold its meeting in Dubai on April 17 to elect the new board of directors of the Arab Union.
