المملكة: The Minister of Information honors the team of the first robot heart transplant in the world

The Minister of Information, Salman bin Youssef Al -Dossary, honored the Saudi medical team, which conducted the first complete heart transplant using the robot in the world at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and the Research Center in Riyadh.
This came during the fifth edition of the 2024 Media Excellence Award, which celebrates creative media work on various national occasions and fields.

The achievement of the Saudi medical team

The honor comes in appreciation of the achievement of the Saudi medical team led by Head of Cardiology, Deputy Executive Director of the Excellence Center for the Heart, Firas Khalil, who has made qualitative progress in the medical field, and contributed to enhancing the Kingdom’s position in health innovation, and was widely praised at the local and international levels, which reflects the leadership of national competencies in the use of the latest medical technologies.
The global achievement of the specialized is the result of the initiatives of the health sector transformation program, one of the Kingdom’s 2030 programs, which embodies the quality of health care provided in the Kingdom, and the ongoing efforts to improve the level of health services provided to humans.

It is noteworthy that the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and the Research Center was the first in the Middle East and Africa, and the 15th globally in the list of the best 250 academic health care institutions around the world.
It also obtained the highest valuable health brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East, according to the 2024 Brand Finance report, and was included in the world’s best smart hospitals for 2025 according to Newsweek.
