Abu Dhabi, March 13 / WAM / The General Civil Aviation Authority in the country issued the first national regulation in the Middle East Region regarding the license of the AirSpace Part Uspace.
A press release issued today said that this step comes in support of the continuous efforts in enabling the infrastructure and organizational infrastructure for drones, which is one of the emerging and fast sectors in the field of air transport during the next stage.
These regulations define the operating standards and requirements of the bodies wishing to provide air navigation services for drones within the state’s airspace, while ensuring an organizational environment that supports effective and safe operation.
The new regulation is characterized by its comprehensiveness, as it covers all aspects of licensing airport service providers for drones, including contracts, training, quality, safety, future planning, scrutiny, and licensing.
This aims to ensure smooth integration between drones and the existing commercial aircraft in the country, through the adoption of licensed bodies that provide air navigation services for these aircraft effectively and efficiently.
His Excellency Saif Muhammad Al -Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said: The issuance of the first national regulations for licensing airport services for the drone is a pivotal step to keep pace with the accelerated developments and sustainable global investments in this field, as this regulation does not represent a mere regulatory framework, but rather a firm commitment to guarantee the highest safety standards and enhance innovation in our air field, in line with the vision of our leadership Al -Rashida, and with expectations that drone operations are doubled in the coming years, this organizational environment will provide an integrated and proactive model that enhances integration with commercial aviation and supports the leadership of our country in the global aviation sector.
For his part, Aqeel Ahmed Al -Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector, said: This list represents a cornerstone of our strategy to integrate advanced technologies for drones in the airspace safely by setting clear criteria for licensing, ensuring that all suppliers work at the highest levels of safety and professionalism, and this initiative will not only support the growth of the drone industry, but also enhances safety and efficiency General for the national air field, which makes the UAE a regional standard for innovative and responsible practices in the field of aviation.
According to the authority, the rapid and widespread development of the use of drones has become a necessity that requires the development of new methods and regulatory regulations, as the demand is accelerated by the use of the airspace of drones, and it is expected that the number of operational operations in the country will double during the coming years, driven by the continuous technical development.
