Maktoum bin Muhammad receives the CEO of MasterCard global

Dubai, March 13 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Governor of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, received today Michael Maybach, CEO of MasterCard, one of the most prominent world leading companies in the field of digital payment and financial technology, in the office of His Highness in Nad Al -Sheba in Dubai.
During the meeting, the overall economic vision of the UAE and its achievement was reviewed in building a financial system that has the flexibility and high readiness for the future by harnessing advanced technologies that enhance economic growth, and the state’s keenness to build and consolidate bridges of cooperation with the leading financial technology companies to accelerate the transformation towards the digital economy and encourage innovation in financial services.
His Highness stressed the pride of the UAE and Dubai with close cooperation relations with MasterCard, noting that his highness is that the business environment is global and the strong infrastructure that supports it is one of the most important pillars that the state places within the reach of its partners from various international financial institutions to enable it to expand its scope and increase its contributions to sustainable economic development in the region.
MasterCard expansion in the region and abroad, starting from its offices in Dubai, is highlighting the city as a center for financial innovation and a main gateway to promising markets, in line with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agency D33 to consolidate its position among the largest four financial centers in the world, at a time when Dubai continues its contributions to forming the future of the global financial sector.

MasterCard opened its headquarters for the Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa in Dubai in 2001.

It is noteworthy that MasterCard has announced the achievement of net revenues amounting to 28.2 billion US dollars for the fiscal year 2024, an increase of 12% compared to the previous year, and the number of workers in it is estimated at more than 35,000 employees, while providing services in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, as it provides safe digital payment solutions for individuals, companies and governments.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed bin Hadi Al -Husseini, Minister of State for Finance, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director General of Dubai Finance, Hilal Saeed Al Murri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, and His Excellency Malik Al Malik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tikom Group.
