“Dubai Smart Radio” monitors a driver who sat his child on his lap while driving

Dubai police control devices (radar) managed to monitor a dangerous traffic violation committed by a driver (one of the parents), as his child allowed his child to sit in front of the vehicle’s wheel in his bosom, while driving on a public street, which posed a threat to their life and the lives of others.
The Director of the General Traffic Department in Dubai Police, Major General Saif Muhair Al -Mazrouei, stressed that the technical devices recorded the incident and the driver was called and the vehicle was seized, explaining that the Federal Traffic Law prevents children sitting under the age of ten or who are less than 145 cm long in the front seat, because of the serious risks to them.
Maj. Also, the air pillows that open strongly and quickly when accidents may lead to serious injuries, especially if the child is young or sits in an unsafe position. Moreover, safety belts in the front seats are designed for adults, which makes them inappropriate for children and may increase the possibility of suffering from head, chest or neck.
Major General Al Mazrouei indicated that Dubai Police Technical Control devices have advanced capabilities to monitor drivers’s behavior while driving, including filming videos documenting serious violations that lead to serious incidents.
He affirmed that Dubai Police is making great efforts to preserve the lives of road users, stressing that some drivers underestimate violations that they believe are simple, but they may be a cause of fatal accidents that lead to innocent life.
The Director of the General Traffic Department in Dubai Police called on parents not to allow children to sit in the front seat, because of the serious risks to their lives and the lives of others on the road, and stressed that the leadership is a great responsibility that requires maturity and high ability to take responsibility.
Major General Al -Mazrouei urged community members to report when monitoring negative phenomena, through the “police eye” service available in the application of Dubai Police on smartphones, or calling all of us police to the number 901, to report it.
