A young Saudi woman: Support changes the lives of women … and nothing stops their aspirations

Suleiman Al -Rifi, a student of electrical engineering, researcher and innovative, was among the speakers in the opening session of the Sixty -ninth session of the Women’s Place at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Jana Al -Rifi delivered a speech during which she shed light on the importance of supporting women in the various fields of life, especially science and technology, where she said: “I stand before you a witness to the support of my family, my country and stakeholders from around the world who worked hard to support young women.”

After the opening session of the Women’s Status Committee, Jana spoke with United Nations news, noting that she won many awards and gold medals in her local and international participation. She said that the support she received from her family and homeland had a decisive role in achieving her ambitions.

And about her work in the field of electrical engineering, which was traditionally seen as a monopoly on men, the rural said: “I am here today to represent the voice of women in science and research. We aspire to change this idea in the future, in my opinion that women can study in any field that they like.”

The Saudi young woman sent a message to Arab girls, saying: “Excellence and success only need determination and will, and there is nothing that stands between them and the fulfillment of their dreams.” And they invited them to pride in their achievements.

She continued: “All the messages today at the conference focused on the fact that the whole world supports women and supports the girl in all fields. We look forward to more excellence and more success stories that we will hear over the years, God willing.”

The rural also called on the Arab leaders to “Providing support of all kinds, moral and material, for everyone who wants to invest in girls and women in the fields of work.”

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chairs the sixty -ninth session of the Women’s Status Committee, and its permanent representative to the United Nations, Abdulaziz Al -Wasl, opened the session on Monday.

The Women’s Status Committee coincides with the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the Bayen advertisement and a work curriculum, which developed a road map to empower women. The course’s discussions will focus on reviewing and evaluating the implementation of the Begin Declaration.

This year will also include an evaluation of the current challenges that affect the implementation of Beijing curriculum, gender equality, women’s empowerment, and its contribution to the full investigation of the 2030 sustainable development plan.
