Sharjah Electricity inaugurates the largest sub -station to transport power by providing 500 million dirhams

Sharjah, March 16 / WAM / The Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Sharjah, inaugurated the airport station in Umm Fanna, the largest sub -station in the network, with a voltage of 220 kV at a cost of more than 500 million dirhams. The project was implemented in cooperation with Siemens Energy Company and General Projects for Mechanical and Electrical Contracting.
Engineer Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of Energy Transmission Department, explained that the authority continues to continue developing energy transport and distribution networks in all regions and provide the best services to the residents of the Emirate of Sharjah in implementation of the vision and directives To ensure sustainability and reliability in energy saving.
He pointed out that the airport station, which was operated, includes four electric transformers with a capacity of 400 megabytes, 220/132 kV. In addition to four transformers with a capacity of 75 megabytes, 33/33 kV. This provides a total capacity of more than 1,200 megawatts of reliable energy to feed vital areas of the city of Sharjah and thus meet the increasing demand for energy.
He expected the new station to contribute to enhancing the ability of the Sharjah electric network and to play a vital role in supporting economic growth and urban development in the city.
Engineer Abdullah Al -Kous, Deputy Director of Energy Transport Department, confirmed that the inauguration of the airport station represents a great achievement that reflects the commitment of the authority to provide an advanced and reliable infrastructure for energy in Sharjah, praising the efforts of the work teams to complete this project according to the highest standards, pointing out that the new station will play an important role in enhancing the stability of the electricity network in the city and supporting the march of growth and development in various sectors.
