"Dubai Roads" 90% of the fourth stage of the development of the Shindaga axis is completed

Dubai, March 23 / WAM / The Roads and Communications Authority opened a major bridge today within the fourth phase of the Al -Shindagha Axis Development Project, with a length of 1210 meters and a capacity of three tracks, with a capacity of 4,800 vehicles per hour, to enhance the flow of traffic from the Infiniti Bridge towards Sheikh Rashid Street.

The fourth stage includes the implementation of five bridges of a total length of 3.1 km, with a capacity of 19400 vehicles per hour, as well as the development of Sheikh Rashid Street between the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street and the Al -Saqr intersection on Al -Mina Street, and the development of surface intersections on the streets of Jumeirah, the port and Sheikh Sabah Al -Ahmad Al -Jaber Al -Sabah, in addition to establishing two infantry bridges on Sheikh Rashid streets and the port.

His Excellency Matar Al -Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, said that the project comes to keep pace with development and absorb the needs of urban and population growth, noting that the completion rate in the fourth stage reached 90%, and that two additional bridges are scheduled to open in the second quarter of this year, one of which is 780 meters with a capacity of three tracks, and the other with a length of 985 meters with a capacity of two tracks, with a total capacity of 8000 vehicles per hour.

Last December, the authority opened a bridge with a length of 1335 meters with a capacity of three tracks, as it opened at the beginning of this year a bridge with a length of 605 meters with a capacity of two tracks, bringing the total bridges completed within the project to four bridges so far.

The project to develop the Shindagha axis is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Dubai, and it extends along 13 km, including the development of 15 main intersections, and serves the areas of Deira and Bur Dubai and the surrounding development projects, where it is expected to contribute to reducing the flight time on the axis from 104 minutes to 16 minutes by 2030, which achieves an economic vase estimated at 45 billion dirhams over 20 years.
