National cyber systems deal with cyber attacks on government and private bodies

Abu Dhabi, March 24 / WAM / The Cyber Security Council assured the government of the UAE that the national cyber systems managed to deal with the cyber attacks that were subjected to 634 government and private entities that targeted the leakage of data from vital and strategic sectors in the country, according to the best global methods in this vital field.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al -Kuwaiti, President of the Cyber Security Council of the UAE government, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM” that the representative of the threat known as “Rose87168” claimed that he was able to penetrate the “Oracle Cloud” platform, which resulted in leaking approximately 6 million customers’ records worldwide, which included sensitive data for user passwords. The President of the Cyber Security Council added that estimates indicate that about 140,000 entities worldwide may have been affected by the penetration process, including 634 entities in the UAE, including “30 government agencies, 13 private entities” and the rest are other parties. The Cyber Security Council explained that the cyber emergency systems in the country were activated in cooperation with the relevant authorities, in a way that contributes to preserving the security of the state’s electronic space and enhancing its protection from any attempts to penetrate or threaten.
The Cyber Security Council called on all governmental and private institutions to enhance electronic protection systems, raise the level of cyber readiness, and immediately report any suspicious activities that may target digital systems.
The Council stressed the importance of caution and adopting the best security practices to confront the increasing cyber threats, especially with the development of penetration tools and electronic fraud that are taking multiple forms.
