The White House confirms that a journalist receives secret military information by mistake

The White House confirmed Monday that the editor -in -chief of the “Atlantic” magazine has accidentally included a very secret correspondence group that includes a number of senior American officials to discuss the direct strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

“It seems at this time that the series of messages mentioned in the article is original, and we are investigating how to add a number by mistake,” said Brian Hughes, a spokesman for the National Security Council, after journalist Jeffrey Goldberg revealed that he had previously received through the Segenal application a detailed plan for American raids on March 15 against the Houthis.

For his part, President Donald Trump confirmed that he knows nothing about the issue.

“I know nothing about it,” Trump told reporters, adding, “I hear this from you for the first time.”

He added that “the attack was very effective” anyway.

The leak would have been very harmful if Goldberg published the details of the plan in advance, but he did not do it even after it happened.

The Atlantic published an article written by Editor -in -Chief Jeffrey Goldberg, saying that “US national security leaders were guaranteed to a collective conversation about the upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think that might be real. Then the bombs began to fall.”

The journalist added that US Defense Minister Beit Higseth sent information to the correspondence group about strikes, including “the goals and weapons that the United States will publish and the sequence of attacks.”

He continued, “According to the long message of Higseth, the first explosions in Yemen will be felt after two hours, at 1:45 pm Easter,” a timetable confirmed on the ground in Yemen.

Goldberg said he was added to the group chat two days ago and received messages from high -ranking government officials who appoint representatives to work on this case.

He explained that the total of 18 people were added to the correspondence group, among them, according to Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Vice President Jay de Verse, and CIA head (CIA) John Ratcliffe.

On March 14, Vice President Jay de Versions seemed doubts about the implementation of the strikes, saying that he hates “saving Europe again”, because its countries were more affected than the Houthi attacks on ships from the United States.

Then, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Hegseth said that Washington alone is able to carry out the mission, while the Minister of Defense indicated that Vans “enlisted him with European exploitation.”
