Emirates Health begins accepting health insurance services in all its facilities for citizens and residents

The Emirates Health Services Corporation announced a major expansion in the scope of accepting health insurance within its medical facilities, by contracting with more than 20 accredited insurance companies nationwide, in a move aimed at facilitating citizens and residents’ access to government health care services, and enhancing the customer experience within its hospitals and clinics.

The Corporation confirmed to Emirates Today that the new system represents a qualitative shift compared to the previous situation, as acceptance of insurance was limited to a specific company or one insurance network, while the Corporation’s health facilities now receive insured clients from various insurance companies operating in the country.

She said that the expansion includes its health facilities across the Emirates, from Dubai to Fujairah, including 17 hospitals and 61 primary health care centres, noting that the service is available to citizens and residents alike.

The Corporation explained that the aim of this step is to expand health insurance networks and facilitate the customer’s journey from the moment of entering the facility until receiving medical service, ensuring a smooth and quick experience in obtaining treatment and care.

She added that the new system focuses on what she described as the “customer’s journey,” as a major priority, so that the insured person can complete the coverage procedures, see the doctor, and obtain the required services smoothly and in a short time.

She pointed out that all processes related to insurance approvals and communication with insurance companies have become fully automated through modern information technology systems, allowing for rapid interaction and completion of approvals within a few minutes in many cases, according to the nature of each insurance company and its coverage requirements.

She explained that this direct electronic link with insurance companies aims to reduce waiting time, ensure service sustainability, and provide competitive, high-quality health care within the government sector.

The Corporation confirmed that it has already begun receiving customers according to the new system, stressing the readiness of medical and administrative staff and health facilities to accommodate the new expansion of insurance networks.

This step comes within the framework of the Emirates Health Services Corporation’s direction towards enhancing ease of access to health services, and raising the efficiency of the government health sector, in line with the best practices applied in hospitals and health care providers in the private sector.

Emirates Health confirmed its continued efforts to improve the quality of health care provided to patients, by providing integrated curative and preventive services that meet the needs of citizens and residents in the various emirates of the country, and its keenness to facilitate patients’ access to medical services through a wide network of hospitals, health centers and specialized clinics, in addition to enhancing the speed of procedures and reducing waiting times. The institution also focuses on developing smart services and digital systems that contribute to improving the patient’s experience from booking until receiving treatment and subsequent follow-up, and these efforts are supported by medical and nursing staff. Qualified, facilities equipped with the latest technology, ensuring the provision of safe and effective health care that puts the patient at the top of its priorities.
