Confronting cyber attacks that were subjected to 634 government and private entities

The Cyber ​​Security Council confirmed to the UAE government that the national cyber systems were able to deal with the cyber attacks that were subjected to 634 governmental and private entities, and targeted the leakage of data from vital and strategic sectors in the country, according to the best global methods in this vital field.

The President of the Cyber ​​Security Council of the UAE government, Dr. Muhammad Al -Kuwaiti, said that the representative of the threat known as “Rose87168” claimed that he was able to penetrate the “Oracle Cloud” platform, which resulted in leaking about six million records of customers worldwide, which included sensitive data for user passwords.

He added that estimates indicate that about 140 thousand entities worldwide may have been affected by the hacking process, including 634 in the UAE, including “30 government agencies, 13 private entities” and the rest are other sides.

The Cyber ​​Security Council explained that the cyber emergency systems in the country were activated in cooperation with the relevant authorities, in a way that contributes to preserving the security of the state’s electronic space, and enhancing its protection from any attempts to penetrate or threatening.

The Cyber ​​Security Council called on all governmental and private institutions to enhance electronic protection systems, raise the level of cyber readiness, and immediately report any suspicious activities that may target digital systems.

The Council stressed the importance of caution and adopting the best security practices to confront the increasing cyber threats, especially with the development of penetration tools and electronic fraud that are taking multiple forms.
