المملكة: “Mawan” amendments … a 15 -day warning and deadline before the penalty of violation of the waste management

The National Center for Waste Management, “Muwan”, launched new amendments to the executive regulations of the waste management system, within the framework of implementing the noble High Order No. 32043 and the date of 5 Jumada I 1444 AH, which requires a review of regulations and regulations related to violations, penalties and fines, and the mechanisms of appreciation, achievement and objections.
The project aims to reduce the challenges related to the violations and fines imposed on commercial establishments, and to achieve a balance between environmental protection and public health on the one hand, and support the business environment on the other hand.

Grave violation

Among the proposed amendments, adding a new definition of the concept of “grave violation” within the first article of the first chapter, so that it is defined as a violation that may lead to serious harm to human health, environment or public health, which reflects a more accurate orientation in the classification of violations and the assessment of their punishment.
The amendments also include adding a new paragraph to Article 210 stipulating a written warning to the violator, while granting it a deadline not exceeding 15 days to correct the violation before imposing any penalties, which enhances the awareness and correction approach before applying the penalties.
