Our national media is a partner in achieving the aspirations of the UAE

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the second deputy governor of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, affirmed that the Emirati media is able to provide strategic visions and innovative ideas, which contribute to translating the specific goals, according to the vision of the wise leadership, to achievements and successes, as a national strategic sector that carries the voice of the Emirates, transmits its mission to the world, supports its development economy, makes community awareness, and preserves. Its authentic value.
This came during the presence of His Highness as part of the activities of the “Emirati media being alone”, which was organized by the Dubai Press Club, yesterday, with the participation of more than 100 media and academic representing the various components of the media sector in the UAE, and a group of writers, journalists and parties concerned with national media affairs, at the club’s headquarters in Dubai, to discuss the reality and future of the Emirati media.
His Highness said: «The sessions of brainstorming and continuous review of the state of our local media, is important and necessary to determine the opportunities that can be focused on during the next stage .. The active and influential media is able to keep pace with the rapid changes and achieve the future aspirations of the UAE, in line with its global position.”
His Highness added: “The Emirati media is alone with an important initiative that contributes to drawing the features of the future of the sector, and inspires the strategic targets of the state .. For all workers in the Emirati media sector, I say: We want you to work as a team to re -innovate the tools capable of communicating the Emirates message effectively to the world, which is a message of security, coexistence and cooperation, which supports a growth march in which all the peoples of the earth enjoy stability and prosperity.”
His Highness stressed – during the retreat attended by the Vice President Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, President of Dubai Press Club, Mona Ghanem Al -Murri – the importance of offering practical ideas that can be investigated within time frameworks and practical measurement indicators, and His Highness said: “The responsibility is great and the challenges are many … The finest levels of progress in various sectors. ”
The retreat, whose discussions were held at the headquarters of the Dubai Press Club, targeted ways to overcome the challenges facing the sector, whether professional or at the level of communication with home and abroad.
Mona Ghanem Al -Murri said: “Collective work in the spirit of one team is one of the most important tools to develop any vital sector, foremost of which is the national media sector with the aim of developing it and upgrading its capabilities, embodying the directives of the wise leadership and its great attention to the sector in all its elements and components.”
She added: “The (Emirati media retreat) initiative is consistent with the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in 2025 to be (the year of society) in the UAE, where the targets of retreat will focus on the role of the media in enhancing the values of cooperation, affiliation and joint experiences, in addition to preserving cultural heritage, as the retreat comes within the framework of the Dubai Press Club’s commitment to work to enhance the role of the Emirati media in spreading awareness And developing local content in line with the vision of the state and the values of society, and this step reflects the club’s keenness to involve all those intended in this message in a professional dialogue, its goal is to benefit from their distinguished experiences in enhancing the process of developing media work in the country.
She expressed appreciation for all national media institutions and Emirati leaders participating in retreat, stressing the importance of partnership and working with all those interested in the national media sector, to listen to their opinions and ideas, and benefit from their expertise and their rich experiences in looking at the reality and future of the Emirati media, and overcoming the challenges facing the sector, as well as proposing ideas and initiatives that would develop work with new and unconventional tools.
Mona Al -Murri explained that the accelerating developments in the global media sector must all have to participate to discuss challenges, but the most important thing is to research the size of future opportunities for national media in line with the vision of the wise leadership, based on a firm conviction that strengthening the reality of the media and its advancement is a shared responsibility between all media institutions in the state, as well as supportive and influential parties in the field of digital media.
The retreat focused on a major axis group, the most important of which are: the role of the media in enhancing the UAE’s position globally, evaluating the current media system and future aspirations, the role of the media in promoting national identity and community values, combating false news and distortion campaigns, as well as the future of the Emirati sports media, and the role of media institutions in supporting and developing Emirati dramatic production.
