Trump’s plan to control Greenland “seriousness”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that his US counterpart, Donald Trump’s plan to control Greenland, is “serious”, expressing his concern that the Arctic would turn into a “crane of potential conflicts.”
“There are serious plans by the United States in Greenland, plans with ancient historical roots,” Putin said during a conference in Mormansk for the Northern Pole.
And he stressed that the Greenland issue, which has self -rule and belonging to Denmark, does not mean Russia, he expressed “his concern that NATO countries are more and more considered that the Arctic is a lever for potential conflicts.”

Russian development

During the conference, Putin announced several measures aimed at developing the economically large Russian north, knowing that it is an important strategic area for Moscow, which has previously developed many military bases that have been neglected since the Soviet era.
He specially ordered the renewal of the cities of the region so that the transportation capabilities within the large city of Mormansk become three times larger, with the development of other ports, as well, he called for improving the railway service between Siberia, the Urals and the Great North and the development of the extraction of raw materials.
“We will increase the ability of our northern ports at a faster pace, we will do so, based on contemporary environmental solutions, including the techniques of trading automatic goods and without a working hand,” Putin added.
