The evacuation of skyscrapers in Bangkok in light of the tremors of the Friday earthquake

The authorities evacuated several skyscrapers in the Thai capital, Bangkok, today, Monday, after appearing to be a tremor, three days after an earthquake of 7.7 on the Richter scale in Myanmar.

Government television reported that at least 1700 people died in Myanmar, while 3,400 people have been injured so far.

The residents of the region still feel shocking tremors, although the American Geological Survey has not registered any new earthquakes.

“I felt (the shocks), although it was lighter than last Friday,” one of the workers in the Satorn area in Bangkok told German news agency (DPA).

The Khasoud newspaper and eyewitnesses reported that other skyscrapers were evacuated, including the (One Bangkok) shopping center, the criminal court building and several government offices as a precaution.
