The execution of the murderers of the Moldovi citizen and the life imprisonment for their partner

The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeals Court – the State Security Department – ruled unanimously the views of the court, to condemn the accused of kidnapping and killing the Moldovi / Israeli citizen (Zafi Kojan) and by punishing three of them with the death penalty and life imprisonment for the fourth for accusing them of intentionally killing the victim with premeditation and for a terrorist purpose.

The Attorney General, Counselor / Dr. Hamad Saif Al -Shamsi ordered the referral of the four defendants to an urgent trial in January 2025 after the investigations initiated by the State Security Prosecution, through which it was proven that the defendants were monitored and killed.

Where the court unanimously ruled the opinions of its body with the death penalty on the three defendants executing the crime of killing and kidnapping and by punishing their fourth partner, who helped them with life imprisonment and deport the state after the execution of the punishment.

According to the law of the United Arab Emirates, the rulings issued by the death penalty are imposed by cassation by law, and it is referred to the Criminal Cassation circle of the Federal Supreme Court to consider challenging and adjudicating it.

The Public Prosecutor stressed that the ruling embodies the UAE’s steadfast commitment to combating terrorism in accordance with the highest standards of justice and the rule of law and by providing fair trial guarantees, stressing that the UAE judiciary is firmly confronted with any attempts aimed at prejudice to the security and stability of the state.

The Attorney General added that the United Arab Emirates is a global model of coexistence and tolerance, and its laws protect all those who live on its soil from various religions and races, and guarantee their security and stability.
