Local television quoted Prime Minister of Myanmar Min Aung Hlang, the news of confirming the rise of the death toll from the strong earthquake that struck the country on March 28 to 2719 dead and 4,521 wounded, while with more than 441 people were lost.

The earthquake, which was 7.7 on the Richter scale, hit Myanmar in the middle of Friday, causing widespread damage, including the capital, Naibidao, and the second largest city in the country Mandalay.
