"Sharjah charity" Provides aid exceeding 68 million dirhams for more than 28 thousand orphans
Sharjah, April 3 / WAM / The Sharjah Charitable Society, on the occasion of its celebration of the Arab Orphan Day, which falls on the first Friday of April of each year, announced that the number of orphans sponsored during the year 2024 reached 28,567 orphans in more than 19 countries at a total cost of more than 68 million dirhams, which reflects the volume of support provided by the association in order to provide a stable and safe environment for them.
And Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Charitable Society, said that the association attaches to orphans the utmost importance as one of the main pillars in its charitable programs, stressing its keenness to implement its humanitarian programs according to a clear vision aimed at providing a decent life for orphans by providing material, educational and health assistance.
He added that the association is not satisfied with providing financial support to orphans, but rather seeks to create an integrated environment that includes providing psychological and social care to them through organizing recreational and awareness programs aimed at enhancing their integration into society and providing them with the skills necessary for their future.
Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi stressed that the association is working continuously to develop its programs for sponsoring orphans to keep pace with their increasing needs, noting that there are many initiatives that are being implemented with the aim of improving the conditions of orphans and enhancing their opportunities to obtain education and health care.
According to the statistics issued by the association, Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi indicated that the association’s efforts during the year 2024 were not limited to orphans only, but also included several other categories where 222 guarantees were provided to families at a cost of 1 million and 57 thousand and 500 dirhams, in addition to 34 guarantees for people of determination at a value of 126 thousand dirhams, and 81 guarantees were provided to imams and teachers at a total cost of 354 thousand 843 dirhams, and 8 guarantees for students at a value of 41 thousand and 760 dirhams, and thus the total number of guarantees submitted during the past year is 28 thousand and 912 bars at a total cost of 69 million and 745 thousand and 128 dirhams,
Noting that these numbers reflect the extent of the association’s commitment to providing continuous support to the most needy groups, as part of its strategy to enhance social solidarity and contribute to achieving sustainable development in society.
