Emirates Libraries" You celebrate the day of the Arabic manuscript

Sharjah, April 3 / WAM / The Emirates Library and Information Association celebrates the day of the Arab Manuscript Day, which falls on the fourth of April of each year, in commemoration of the legacy of Arab and Islamic sciences and knowledge and highlighting its role in consolidating various sciences and establishing libraries, and this occasion comes as an affirmation of the importance of the Arab manuscript as an authentic source of knowledge and a civilized record that documents the contributions of Arab and Muslim scholars in various fields.
Fahd Al -Maamari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Association for Libraries and Information, stressed that celebrating the Arab Manuscript Day reflects the association’s commitment to preserving the written heritage and enhancing awareness of its value, noting that the manuscripts are not just historical documents but rather live evidence of the creativity of Arab scientists and thinkers and a bridge that links the past with the present and the future.
He added that the association seeks, through these activities, to highlight the efforts made to preserve, restore and restore manuscripts, in a way that contributes to making them available to future generations and benefiting from them in various research and academic fields.
In this context, the association will organize a symposium entitled “Manuscripts: its history and present”, in cooperation with the Sharjah Heritage Institute presented by the researcher and investigator Prof. Dr. Bashar Awad, to highlight the development of Arab manuscripts and their importance in preserving the human heritage and the challenges they face in light of modern technological developments.
