The administration of the suspects and criminal phenomena in the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Investigations, in cooperation with the police stations in Dubai, seized 222 beggar from various nationalities in the month of Ramadan and the Eid Al -Fitr holiday, as part of a campaign to struggle to begging by the General Command of Dubai Police under the slogan “a conscious society, without begging”, in cooperation with the strategic partners represented in the General Administration of Residence and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and the Roads and Communications Authority in Dubai, And the Dubai Municipality, the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Action in Dubai, and the service of the Secretary, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of preserving the civilized image of the state by combating begging and preventing it.

Colonel Ahmed Al -Adidi, Director of the Department of Lesny and Criminal Phenomena in the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Investigations, said that the campaign to compete begging is considered one of the successful campaigns launched by the administration in cooperation with the partners, which contributed to reducing the number of beggars annually due to the strict and firm measures taken against the seized beggars, as the campaign resulted in the seizure of 222 wages of different men of men And women in the blessed month of Ramadan and Eid al -Fitr.

He explained that the Dubai Police is annually set an integrated security plan to combat begging, by intensifying patrols in the places expected to be the beggars..

And Colonel Ahmed Al -Adidi, that the Dubai Police, in the context of its continuous keenness to combat all the negative aspects that affect society, annually monitor the fraudulent methods of beggars in order to develop plans and programs to combat and limit them in order to control those involved to protect society.

He pointed out that the beggars are always trying to exploit the feelings and atmosphere of mercy and affection that prevail in the holy month of Ramadan to achieve illegal gains, warning against dealing with these behaviors that take several forms, including the exploitation of children, patients and people of determination to beg in order to gain sympathy, where several cases were seized for women who begged with children.

Colonel Al -Aida added that the beggars seek to sympathize with people on the occasions of worship and holidays to begging in a fraudulent and professional manner, which is a criminal violation punishable by law.

For his part, Captain Abdullah Khamis, head of the begging department, said that the campaign aims to combat all forms of begging, whether traditional in the places of worshipers, councils and markets, or unconventional such as electronic begging or requesting donations to build mosques abroad, or claiming a request for assistance for humanitarian and other cases, indicating that the campaign seeks to achieve several goals, most notably preserving the civilized image of society, protecting society from related crimes By traditional and electronic begging, combating begging and organized begging crimes and prevention.

Captain Abdullah Khamis pointed out that there are official channels for charitable work and providing assistance through charitable bodies and institutions to ensure donations reaching those who deserve them, urging donation through these channels.

Captain Abdullah Khamis called on members of the public to report beggars by contacting the free number (901) or the “police eye” service available on the Dubai Police application on smartphones, in addition to reporting the cases of electronic begging via a platform “E-CRIME” Electronic.
