"A book from the Emirates" Her first participation at the Bologna International Book Fair concludes

Bologna, on April 4 / WAM / The “Book from the Emirates” initiative concluded the joint initiative between the Emirates Media Council and the “ELF” publishing house, its participation in the Bologna International Book Fair, with the aim of supporting the Emirati publishing industry, enabling national talents in the field of children’s literature, and enhancing the presence of Emirati content in the global scene through distinguished literary productions that contribute to enriching the international library with content that carries identity and cultural values ​​of the UAE.

The participation witnessed a distinguished presence of the Emirati writers, Maitha Al -Khayyat and Ibtisam Al -Bayti, which were chosen within the first stage of the “Book from the Emirates” initiative to be a central part in the journey of transferring Emirati content from local to global, and contributing to promoting global awareness of the distinguished level that the UAE has in the publishing industry.

His Excellency Metha Majid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Strategy and Media Policy Sector, stressed that the participation of the Book initiative from the Emirates at the Bologna International Book Fair represents an important station in the efforts of exporting the Emirati content directed to children to the world, and enhancing the state’s presence in the child’s content industry at the international level.

She said that we are proud that the “Book from the Emirates” initiative records its first international participation in one of the most important exhibitions of the children’s books in the world, in a move that we believe will contribute to the delivery of the voice of the Emirati writer who specializes in child literature to international publishing platforms, and introducing international societies to educational and cultural values ​​on which the Emirati child grew up, through stories and publications expressing our identity and providing humanitarian messages with Emirati pens.

She added that the book directed to the child represents an important tool for building awareness, developing imagination and enhancing values, and our participation in the Bologna exhibition provides Emirati creators an opportunity to display their works on international platforms, and contributes to the consolidation of the UAE image as a distinguished source in the field of child literature.

She concluded by saying that through our strategic partnership with Elf Publishing House, we continue our commitment to support national talent, enabling Emirati writers and publishers to reach global markets, and we see in spreading the Emirati content directed to the child globally a common responsibility that contributes to building bridges communicating with the world and reflecting the civilizational face of the UAE.
