The UAE ends a prominent representation period for the Arab Group in the International Parliament with qualitative achievements

The Emirati Parliamentary Division concluded a prominent representation period for the Arab Group in the Executive Committee of the International Parliamentary Union with qualitative achievements.

His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al -Nuaimi, President of the UAE Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council in the International Parliamentary Union, and the representative of the Arab Geopolitical Group in the Federation’s Executive Committee, reviewed the final report of the representation of the Emirati Parliamentary Division of the Arab Group in the Executive Committee, during the coordination meeting of the Arab Group held today, Friday, on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings 150 of the Federation held in the Republic of Uzbek The capital “Tashkent“.

His Excellency Al -Nuaimi appreciated the confidence of the Arab Parliamentary Group of the Emirati Parliamentary Division, which took their representation in the Executive Committee for a period of four years since 2022 AD, in appreciation of the active role played by the Emirati parliamentary diplomacy in various activities and activities of the Federation, and the strong partnership relationships that link it with various parliaments and geopolitical groups at the union level.

His Excellency Dr. Al -Nuaimi offered the contributions in which he participated during the period of representation of the Arab group, which aimed to support Arab positions, enhance Arab presence in the mechanisms of international parliamentary decision -making, and contribute to developing the performance of the union at various levels.

The report indicated that the representative of the Arab group assumed the chairmanship of the Sub -Committee for Financial Affairs, participated in discussing and supporting the proposed amendments to the articles of association of the federation, and contributed to the preparation of the code of behavior for the officials of the Federation, the adoption of a policy of anti -harassment, and the proposal to form an independent control and ethics committee that enhances institutional governance within the union.

The report indicated that the hosting of international parliamentary activities in the Arab region, especially the parliamentary meeting accompanying the climate conference (Cop28)And the parliamentary conference accompanying the thirteenth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization, and the meeting of the Executive Committee, which was hosted by the Federal National Council in the Emirates, which reflects the growing role of the region in the global parliamentary work agenda.
